If you’re looking for a country-chic gift for a bird lover or a conversation piece for your own little nest, this is it. I found this on Amazon and bought it on a whim. I’m so glad this is a part of my bird-themed decorations.
I have this hanging in my kitchen from a simple gross-grain ribbon. I used to collect antique advertising tins and the wreath’s folksy design reminds me of my favorite turn-of-the-century looks.
The wreath is a nice size – about 14 inches at its widest point and 12 1/2 inches at its highest. Seven, 2 1/2 inch birds nestle on bronzy-brown woven wire strands reminiscent of grape vines that meander along an inner metal heart-shape. The “vine” is so realistic, you could think it wooden until you touch its metal surface.
A 1/2 inch round hanging circle dips down from the top of the heart and makes hanging this a breeze. I sometimes add a little seasonal greeting plaque from the circle that hangs into the center of the wreath.
The birds each carry their own pretty metal patina ranging from rusty brass to aged green. They are soldered securely on to the wreath.
I really love this item as a special gift (under $20!) or a special treat for your own home.
