I first discovered Poop-Off when we hosted a family of darling canaries. I loved those little creatures but they could poop like champions. And of course, the task of cleaning up fell to good old mom. I tried a few different brands of bird cleaning products but absolutely none compared to the effectiveness of Poop-Off.
This non-toxic, magic formula contains filtered water, active enzymes, surfactant and avian-safe fragrance. I began using this years ago on our bird cages. A few quick squirts, a good handled scrubbing brush, and a little waiting time was all it took to loosen stubborn droppings from the cage surface. As I transitioned on to feeding wild birds, I also used this product to clean my patio furniture and rails. It did the trick there, too.
The PetSmart website notes that Poop-Off is great for cleaning cages, perches, walls, carpets, splattered food, regurgitated food, hand-feeding formula, bug residue, clothing, bird toys, nest boxes, bird feeders, blood, floors, pottery, monuments, upholstery, car seats, boat fabrics and decking.
I’m really sensitive to chemicals and smells and was not bothered by Poop-Off at all. The spray contains no solvents or orange oil and is non-toxic and safe for use around birds and pets. I recommend wearing rubber gloves when using this product. The product comes in a spray bottle and a large refill formula.
I spoke with David, the formulator of this product, and discovered he’s a very interesting person full of stories about how this (and other) urine and waste dissolving products were developed. Industrial-sized barrels of his Poop-Off formula is shipped all over the world – and even to big oil rigs in the Middle East where falling clumps of residual bird poop from the towering structures can prove deadly to workers below.
You know it must work!
